Apple Announces iPhone SDK in the Works…
What does that mean?
Basically, it means Apple has given in to the fight to keep homebrew off the iPhone. A very good decision indeed, in my opinion. A few other companies could learn some lessons from Apple (coughSONYcough).
The SDK is set to be released in February, and knowing Apple, it’ll be refined as ever. They will probably disallow certain things (complete control over the Terminal, or access to the cellular radio, etc.), but overall we’ll be in a better condition than we are now.
I (and when I say “I,” I mean Ben) am (is) going to have redo the site, perhaps into a “Jailbreak apps” section, and a “3rd Party” section.
I hope they add Java support.
